Patents – New procedures for including
sequence listings in patent applications
Source: Infomail ABREU, MERKL no. 26
The Brazilian National
Institute of Industrial Property (INPI/BR) published
the Resolution no. 210/09, dated 14.May.2009, changing
the rules for the inclusion of nucleotide and amino
acid sequence listings in patent applications.
According to the new
rules, the representation of sequence listings should
follow the Standard ST. 25 of the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) and the listings must be
entirely recorded in two identical files in a non-rewritable
CD or DVD, one in PDF (Portable Document Format) and
the other in TXT (text format). A paper copy of the
sequence list may be also submitted.
