Source: JPO site - Activities JPO [Public Information]
The Japan Patent Office (JPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs) (OHIM) have been carrying out the “Trilateral Identification Manual Project” to review acceptable English identifications of goods and services for the three offices in order to decrease the burden of applicants obtaining trademark rights.

Consequently, the offices have agreed on approximately 7,000 acceptable English identifications and made a list including the acceptable identifications.
