IThe Brazilian Development Bank - BNDES, a federal public company associated to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, announced on 17.aug.2006 a new Financial Support Program with the objective of consolidating the international competitiveness of the Brazilian enterprises.

Procomp - Program for the Competitiveness of Industrial Sector Enterprises - has a 450 million dollars budget mainly directed in a first stage to the increase of productive capacity by supporting the working capital of medium-sized enterprises.

The selection of the enterprises´ projects that may receive the support will be made based upon the last 3 years investments in: (1) intangible assets, especially innovation, design, branding and obtainment of intellectual property rights; and (2) fixed assets directed to the increase or modernization of the productive capacity.
