General - Beijing Prepares Contingency
Plan for Olympic IPR Protection

At the press conference
reviewing IPR protection in Beijing on 08.May.2008,
Liu Zhengang, Director General of the Beijing Intellectual
Property Office, announced that the municipality will
formulate a contingency or rapid response plan for Olympic
IPR protection and step up actions against infringements
during the Olympics.
Besides the
contingency plan, the municipality is also establishing
a working group in order to provide rapid response to
IPR incidents occurring during the Olympics in addition
to carrying out routine jobs in coordinating protection
of Olympic IPRs and rehearsing for possible incidents.
Relevant authorities will be coordinating their resources
to take care of incidents and give full support to the
Olympic Games.
