The Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABNT) is the agency in charge of the national technical normalization, providing the necessary groundwork for the Brazilian technological development, being Brazil’s one and only representative of the following international entities: ISO (International Organization for Standardization), IEC (International Electro technical Commission), and for the regional normalization entities COPANT (Pan American Standards Commission) and AMN (Mercosul Association of Normalization).

Aiming to present the norms and their controls, bring the concepts of information security and prepare auditors to conduct intern audits of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), ABNT joined the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI) through its Paraná Sectional, the representative of which being the Attorney-at-law and Industrial Property Agent, Maria Inez A. de Abreu, of ABREU, MERKL, in order to hold in the premises of the latter, two important events:

29.Mar.2010: Course on the norms ABNT NBR ISO IEC 27001 - Information Security Management Systems - Requisites and ABNT NBR ISO IEC 27002 - Information Security Management Practice Code (Intensive).

30-31.Mar.2010: Training Course of Intern Auditors of the SGSI-Information Security Management System, based on ABNT NBR ISO IEC 27001:2006.

The instructor specializes in information security norms with training in England, he is a Delegate of Brazil that participates, discusses, follows and elaborates, together with delegates of other 42 countries, the rules on Information Security, of the ISO IEC 27000 family, including ISO/IEC 27001/27002.
